Procedural TARDIS (Doctor Who)

100% Procedurally generated TARDIS from the television show, Doctor Who. Made completely in Substance Designer and rendered in Marmoset.

This project is a fully procedural recreation of the iconic TARDIS from Doctor Who, created entirely in Substance Designer as part of my final for a Procedural Texturing course at the University of Utah. Using only a cube for the main body and a cylinder for the top light, all details—including the paneling, signage, and even the St. John Ambulance badge—were generated through procedural techniques, with no modeling involved.

The project was rendered in Marmoset Toolbag, and the final presentation includes an animated sequence inspired by the TARDIS’s signature “whooshing” entrance.

This project was a joy to work on and a great opportunity to push the limits of procedural texturing. I spent a few weeks on this project, but it felt like a few days. “Wibbly wobbly, timey wimey stuff.”
